The Gallery Quartet

The Gallery String Quartet

A traditional string quartet incorporating two violins, viola and cello. First established in 1997, the quartet has built-up a reputation for reliability and professionalism second to none in the East Anglian region. They have built up a huge repertoire of pieces over the years ranging from the Pachelbel ‘Canon’, Handel’s Water Music, Tea for Two, The Marriage of Figaro, Bach Brandenburg Concerto No.3 and The Blue Danube to Robbie Williams ‘Angels’, Bittersweet Symphony and other modern songs. For more details, please see the repertoire page.

The Gallery String Trio

Consists of the Violin, Viola and Cello taken from the members of the Quartet. They incorporate the same qualities as the Quartet but are not quite as flexible in terms of repertoire. Most of the pieces popularly played at weddings are arranged for Quartet but less so for Trio. Certainly worth considering if space is a factor and will cost slightly less than the quartet. If you like Mozart & Beethoven String Trios then they will be perfect but not if you have your heart set on the Pachelbel ‘Canon’ as one of the three parts in canon will be missing!

The Gallery String Duo

A Violin and Cello duo that plays a mixture of Baroque violin sonatas (Corelli, Vivaldi, Bach etc) and more romantic music arranged for two. Can fit into much smaller spaces than the Quartet or Trio and can provide suitable background music for a drinks reception or wedding breakfast. A much smaller sound than the Quartet, the repertoire is again not as varied as the larger ensemble but very pleasant for smaller venues.
